Description
Easy, flat ride from Innvik to Sande camping on Lovatnet lake.
Lovatnet lake is beautiful glacial meltwater with an interesting (and tragic) history: part of the mountain fell off into the lake in 1905 and created a tsunami that destroyed two villages. The villages were rebuilt higher up, but in 1936 a larger piece fell of the same mountain, created a bigger tsunami, and destroyed the villages again.
Moderately flat ride from there to the glacier trailhead.
Short hike to the glacier tongue. GPS tracks a little unreliable in the deep canyon.
Actual climbing: 2100 feet.
