Description
Tough climb over the 1300 meter Aurlandsfjellet. This old road climbs over the top of the world’s longest road tunnel.
I misread the map in the morning and thought the summit was only 300 meters high, and thought I was in for an easy day… I was mistaken.
Conditions at the top were very cold and wet. I don’t have a thermometer but I suspect it was in the 40s.
Finally made it to camping cabin at Øvre Årdal at 10 PM, wet (but warm), where the campground owner made me waffles :)
Actual climbing for day: 6086 ft / 1855 meters (ignore the numbers above; GPS elevation data is unreliable)
