11 miles in the dark. No moon. Forgot the damn extender cable that allows you to put the battery pack in the Camelbak instead of in your jersey or on the back of your neck.
Thankfully, didn’t see a lot of wildlife on this ride. The tally goes something like mice – 1, bats – 1, deer -1, mountain lions – 0.

Awesome, night soloing Demo must be a pretty interesting experience. Though in my imagination I’d have some fears of seeing meth hilbillies show up along the trail Blair Witch style…
Honestly, my greatest fear was that I would get to the big camp ground at the upper part of fence trail and stumble upon the big “mens” group that is occasionally there on the weekends. That and the little voice in my head going “mountain lion, faster, mountain lion, faster”.
I did see a pretty fantastic shooting star at the heli pad…kind of made the whole thing worthwhile.
