Description
Another favorite after-work ride of mine: starting at the small parking lot on Alpine Rd, half a mile or so beyond the intersection with Portola Rd in Portola Valley, the ride starts with pavement that turns into dirt (look for the ‘dead end’ signs) after 20 minutes or so of climbing. It climbs and climbs, with an entertaining section of singletrack that you need to take to circumnavigate the old slide on Alpine. At Skyline, I like to climb further up to Borel Hill and enjoy the views. After that, a great descent awaits you!
