Description
Finally! I did a complete Wednesday ride with the Noon Goons – and managed to get a PB on Old La Honda – woohooo!! My time was 23:18 – and if I had known how close I was to breaking into the 22-minute range, I could have easily pushed a little harder – especially in the beginning! My time at the 1.00-mile mark was 6:30, the 1.61-mile mark (half way) was 11:00, the 2.00-mile mark was 14:20, the 2.22-mile mark was 16:00, and the 3.00-mile mark was 22:00 – all excellent times!! My average speed up Old La Honda was an excellent 8.3 mph and my average heartrate was an awesome 160 bpm – I could not have done it much better, other than going just a little harder in that first mile, when I could have chopped off about 20 seconds (my PB for the first 1.00 mile is just 6:11) – so if I had done just that one small change in the climb, I could have had a time of 22:58 or so – and that would have been a real big wooooohoooo!!!!!! Still, I’m quite pleased with this result, especially considering that I was contemplating not even doing the climb today – or only going up for the first 1.00 mile, like I had done the last couple of times. So, all in all, a super successful day!
