Description
An interesting day for me – I lead the entire pack from the start of the ride to the base of Old La Honda, then decided to skip doing the climb and just wait for them at the bottom of Hwy 84 – but after waiting for just a couple of minutes, I decided to just finish out the ride by myself and see what kind of pace I could keep up, since I had effectively done the entire ride by myself to that point – I had simply pulled the pack along for the first 30 minutes! So I continued on and even did the sprint at the end of the ride – getting up to almost 30 mph at the very end of the sprint (my previous best with a little bit of a leadout from someone else was about 33 or 34 mph!). And, for the entire ride of almost 16 miles and about 1000 feet of climbing, I did an excellent time of almost 19 mph – 18.7 mph, in fact!!! Woooooooohoooooo!!!!! This was my strongest ride by myself, ever! I’m obviously getting much stronger now – yes!!
