Description

This was a fun Wednesday evening big ride from Scotts Valley to Dave’s house in Los Gatos, going over Mtn Charlie to Saratoga Gap and then down to Saratoga on Hwy 9 and over to Los Gatos (also on Hwy 9), ending up at Dave’s house. I rode quite strong on the entire ride, almost staying with Dave on the climbs – but he’s a much stronger rider (cat 4 racer!), so I didn’t really have a chance – but I was definitely much stronger than Patrick on the whole ride. On the run into Los Gatos along Hwy 9, I was able to easily draft off of Dave, but we dropped Patrick like a stone soon after we left the town of Saratoga – he just ran out of gas and struggled to finish off the ride – I think all the climbing (over 4,000 feet!) did him in, as he hasn’t trained as much as me in the last few months.
