Description
This ride served a couple of purposes: to test if I’m finally getting back in Coe-shape after some weeks of inactivity and illness; to check out Rock Tower trail, as for some reason I’ve never ridden it before (except one short section); and finally, to add a few blank spots/trails in my database of Coe GPS tracks (upper Coit Spring trail).
On the first point: I’m slowly getting there. On the second: now I finally know why it’s called ‘Rock Tower’ (see photos below). I figure this trail would be perfect for mudworm : she could ride her bike in, then climb some nice lines on those big rocks! Finally: I found upper Coit Spring trail to be a nearly non-existent track, and trying to ride/navigate it gives you a typical Coe experience: a combination of a slightly futile navigation exercise (aka getting lost), bushwacking and hoping for the best while you roll into some overgrown rut- and pothole-ridden trench in the earth. Lots of fun though!
