Description
The bike course of the 2007 Wildflower triathlon, which I rode past Saturday (as part of relay team ‘Broken Fork’, formed to help out co-worker/triathlete Greg – who was kept from cycling this year by yes, a broken fork).
The course is quite scenic but pretty tough, especially given you’re doing it in time trial fashion. The first 20 or so miles look innocuous on the profile but we had to deal with obnoxious head winds. And the sting is definitely in the end – worn out from the first 40 miles you’re presented with a sequence of steep hills, including ‘Nasty Grade’, aka ‘Heartrate Hill’.
