Description
Fantastic Tahoe ride: ultra-grueling but very rewarding: the views are amazing, vintage Tahoe, and the descents on this ride are more than thrilling, wrapping up with Mr. Toads, one of the finest in the whole area.
This ride makes a loop, using 10ish miles of paved road (you have to climb up Daggett’s Pass aka Kingsbury grade)- it’s a little easier when you shuttle it. Maximum tech rating, because of the incredibly tough uphill rock steps on the Monument Pass section of the Tahoe Rim Trail, and the upper part of Toad’s (if you can ride everything on this ride, my hat off).
The ride also gets you quite high – over 10000 feet. You have the opportunity to reach the highest point in the Tahoe basin, the summit of Freel Peak (requires some hiking as the summit trail that branches of the Rim trail isn’t accessible for bikes).
