Description
A satisfying route—when you’ve finished it!
The route is perfectly rideable up to the end of Gleann Beag, but starts to deteriorate once you turn south into Ghleann Aoidhdailean. The steeper section over the bealach itself is a bouldery trackless push, so expect a good hour of pushing to get over the pass. The track re-emerges once over the bealach, and starts to become rideable again once off the steeper ground.
The going gets faster as you approach the turn west into Gleann Dubh, and there are a couple of manic fire-road descents just past the Dubh Lochain as you descend into Glen Arnisdale.
Don’t kid yourself that it’s all over once you hit the coast at Arnisdale: there are a couple more big road climbs to negotiate over Creag a’ Chàise and Mam nan Uranan.
