About MTBGuru
MTBGuru is for people who like to ride, hike, run – yes those types that can’t seem to stay in the house and sit still.
You can upload and share your GPS data and photos taken during your outdoor adventures to the site. In case you don’t have a GPS unit… those things make a great birthday or Christmas present, politely suggest it to your loved ones!
You can browse around and see what your friends and other people are up to. We’ve focused on mountain biking to date, but it really works as well for any activity where you’re outside and moving around. Some examples:
- a ride in one of mountain biking’s Mecca’s: Fruita, Colorado
- More a fan of roadbiking? Check this report on the 2006 Santa Cruz Mountain Challenge, or take a closer look at the famous Alpe d’Huez climb
- Not much into bikes? The site works nicely for hiking too, read about the hike to the summit of Mt. Elbert in Colorado
- You’re more of a runner? Here’s a good trail run in Rancho San Antonio park in Cupertino, CA
You can relive those epic trips and impress friends and co-workers with your exploits.
And the best part: it’s all free and you have full control over your data and any information that you enter on the site. We’ve incorporated some ads and we may do more in the future, as web hosting costs money. But we built this site in the first place because we’re passionate about mountain biking and the outdoors ourselves, and felt it as an itch that needed scratching. We took it on us to make it as simple, intuitive and hassle-free as possible.
We are having fun building and using the site, we hope you will too. Please explore the site and for more info, check out the FAQ and feel free to contact us at mtbguru@mtbguru.com.
Creating an account is easy, you just need to give us a valid e-mail address and select a username and password. And if you just want to browse around, you don’t even need to register at all. An account will allow you to create your own trips though, and upload GPS files, photos and add comments – so if you’d like to try this, please sign up!
Enough said! Here are some screenshots, to give you a bit of a preview.
